Aprons for Wee Ones

A couple of weeks ago I decided to try my hand at a Sip & Shop fair.   I was going to do it last year, but chickened out.  This year I have determined to do it.  So I have been making a few other things to go along with my quilts.

I have been busy making these little aprons.  I used to make them to go in the housekeeping corner of my preschool class.  They fit little girls ages two to six.  For the fair I am making Twenty Two.  I only have four left to finish up!

Inspired by 1840's Antique Doll Quilt

I saw a really old doll quilt on ebay recently that I tried to replicate.
You can find the quilt at GB-Best  Antique Quilts.

This is my version.
I really like how the center turned out.

The quilt needed a little more, so I stitched on some little pumpkin seeds in the corner blocks.  I have had that blue fabric for ages, since way back in the 90's when they started making reproductions.

The Bow Tie Quilt is Finished

The little pink bow tie quilt is all finished.
I quilted the border yesterday and got it bound.
There are six different pinks in it.  It  measures 11 x 15 1/2.

Tumbler Quilt

This is a little tumbler quilt that I made last April.
After seeing an antique quilt that was finished in the same way,
I just had to try it.  It measures 15.5 x 22.

I really like the way it turned out.

I had lots of leftover tumblers, so I am making
 a couple of smaller quilts.
I finished quilting and binding the first one last night.

Here it is.  Just out of the dryer.  It measures 11 x 14.

A Little Hand Piecing

I have been hand piecing little bow tie blocks for the last couple of days.
They are easy to do while watching a movie in the evening.

I put together a little quilt with just 6 of the blocks.
The little blocks are 3 inches stitched and finish at 2.5 inches.

Scottie Quilt Challenge Quilt

This is another quilt that I made for Kathleen Tracy's yahoo group SmallQuiltTalk.  It was a couple years back.  Kathleen designed the cute little Scottie and I had a great time making the quilt.

The little dogs are running around the edges of the quilt.

The light squares in the center of the quilt are from a small piece of quilt candy that I got from Sew Many Quilts in Tracy, CA.
It has darling little birds on it.

Great fun!

I'm Back

It has been months since I have worked on my blog.  I hope I can remember how to publish pictures.

I do have one old post that was never published, so I guess I'll start with that.
